CluStrat is a project built to implement the pre-defined project concept "Boosting innovation through new cluster concepts in support of emerging issues and cross-sectoral themes".

The objective of this project concept is to "develop and test a joint strategy on new cluster concepts in support of emerging economic sectors/branches, cross-technology and cross-sectoral themes." It targets new cluster issues in a broad sense (open for any competence area) and involves policy makers (responsible for innovation and cluster policy at national, regional and local level), analysts and practitioners. CluStrat covers the whole CE area including the Ukraine. The specific objective of CluStrat is to enhance a cross-fertilization between traditional sector clusters, new emerging technology and services cluster. Cross-cutting issues such as sustainability and gender and innovation will be the most important topics to be included.

The total budget approved by the Lead partner (Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum der Steinbeis Innovation) for the Business Development Agency is 152 160 EUR. The overall budget of CluStrat as applied for is approx. 3.7 Mio. €
