IT/OT network security

Novinka

SOITRON presented innovations in network security in IT and OT environments.

SOITRON s.r.o. has been operating on the market for more than thirty years. It focuses on industry and manufacturing, which make up approximately eighty-five percent of its portfolio. The rest is accounted for by the financial sector, enterprise customers, and security agencies. The company's main strength lies in its ability to combine knowledge in the fields of IT (servers, computers, firewalls) and OT (production technologies, such as sensors, panels, and robots), offering clients solutions that bridge the gap between these two worlds.

The company conducts audits and analyses of production technologies, checks software, assesses risks, and designs modern architectures and procedures. Cybersecurity is currently one of the most important topics. Attacks are not limited to the financial sector; manufacturing companies are also frequent targets. Attackers do not care what a company produces, but whether its data can be easily obtained and sold on the darknet. A common accompanying phenomenon of attacks is ransomware, which can block infrastructure and halt production for weeks or months.

As an example, he cites a project for Mondelez International (Oreo, Milka, and other brands). Its goal was to unify safety standards at its plants around the world. A pilot audit was conducted at one production plant, where the team spent three days inspecting all equipment, preparing documentation, analysis, and recommendations. A number of deficiencies were found, the most serious of which were identified for immediate resolution, while the others are to be addressed gradually over the next few years. Mondelez was satisfied with the results and subsequently ordered the same audits at fifty plants across Europe. The benefits included not only improved infrastructure and architectural design, but also the introduction of processes that the plants will use in the long term.

Other major clients include Hyundai, Škoda, Kofola, and Doosan Bobcat. In the energy sector, it cooperates with Innogy and E.ON. It is therefore clear that the company has a strong position, particularly in industry and energy, where it has built trust and long-term relationships.

Attracting experts is a significant challenge. There is a shortage of specialists in both IT and OT on the market. The company therefore invests in the training and certification of its employees.

In conclusion, Sorici invited participants to a technical roadshow focused on industry and manufacturing. The event will take place on September 17 in Ostrava and on October 1 in Pilsen. It will include news from the field of technology and cybersecurity as well as presentations of case studies.
