Two Czech Clusters Succeed in the Second Euroclusters Call

Novinka

The involvement of Czech clusters in international consortia strengthens their role within European innovation structures and creates new collaboration opportunities for their members.

The Euroclusters programme is one of the European Union’s key instruments supporting competitiveness, innovation, and international cooperation across strategic value chains. The second call of the programme confirmed strong interest and intense competition among cluster organisations from across Europe.

Against this backdrop, it is particularly significant that two Czech clusters — the Czech Furniture Cluster and the Automotive Cluster (Autoklastr) — were successful in this call and became part of international consortia implementing Euroclusters projects.

Under the call Joint Cluster Initiatives (Euroclusters) for Europe’s Recovery (SMP-COSME-2024-CLUSTER), 16 new Euroclusters projects were selected with a total budget of EUR 42 million. These projects will contribute to the development of a greener, more digital, and more resilient European economy.

More than EUR 30 million of the total budget will be channelled directly to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through open calls. The support will focus primarily on innovation, deployment of advanced technologies, capacity building in strategic sectors, and strengthening the resilience of European industry. Financial support will be complemented by activities in education, internationalisation, and knowledge exchange.

Selected Euroclusters Projects with Czech Participation

Clusters successful in the second Euroclusters call have joined international consortia with the objective of supporting innovation, internationalisation, and competitiveness of SMEs across Europe.

  • MANUFACTergy: Manufacturing and energy synergies for sustainable operations and resilient factories.
Partners: HYGIA Consult (RO), Cluster Legno Arredo e Sistema Casa (IT), Cluster of Czech Furniture Manufacturers (CZ), Interior Cluster Sweden (SE), Bulgarian Furniture Cluster (BG), Smartech Cluster (ES), Smart Innovation Norway (NO), Cluster TREC (RO)
  • RESIST II: Driving sustainability and resilience in Europe’s automotive and mobility sectors. Partners: CEAGA (ES), Autoklastr (CZ), Polska Grupa Motoryzacyjna (PL), CTAG (ES), Pôle Véhicule du Futur (FR), Ukrainian Automotive and Mobility Cluster (UA)

The success of Czech clusters confirms their strong position not only within the Czech Republic but also in the broader European context. Participation in Euroclusters projects provides member companies with new opportunities in innovation, international cooperation, and access to international markets.
