Robots in Intralogistics Processes

Novinka

The robotisation of intralogistics increases warehouse efficiency, reduces costs, and minimises errors. Discover the advantages of AGVs, AMRs, and other automated systems for optimising processes.

Mr Miroslav Šimek from the company Kvados, a.s., a member of the Association for Innovation in Logistics, presented the possibilities of robotisation in intralogistics processes.

At the beginning, he introduced the audience to the Kvados Group and its competencies in robotics, including software solutions and system integration. He noted that the company originally started as a software provider but gradually expanded into hardware in response to market demand.

In his presentation, he showcased the myFaber product portfolio, focused on handling pallets and individual goods. The technologies offered include fork robots, under-ride robots (myFaber AMR and myFaber AGV), and fully automated pallet warehouses.

He emphasised the key benefits of robotisation, including addressing labour shortages, eliminating routine tasks, ensuring production continuity, and increasing workplace safety. He also pointed out that robots allow employees to focus on more qualified and complex tasks.

The presentation included practical demonstrations of robotic solutions in real-life operations, such as an automated pallet warehouse with maximum density and under-ride robots, also known as "turtles," efficiently handling individual goods.

He also presented the robotic technology showroom in Paskov near Ostrava, where these systems can be viewed in operation. He mentioned the company’s expanded offering, which now includes robots for gastronomy and facility management, such as tray transport robots for restaurants and cleaning robots for manufacturing plants.

As part of a case study, he presented an automated warehouse at Dextrum Fulfillment, a.s., equipped with AGV turtle robots using a Goods-to-Person system and a Pick-to-Light system, which minimises errors and increases storage efficiency.

The presentation concluded with a discussion on robotisation opportunities for smaller businesses. It was noted that even small and medium-sized companies with around 15 employees can successfully implement individual robotic systems and automate their processes.
