Recycled textile boards are turning waste into useful products.

Novinka

An innovative approach to textile recycling and the persistent efforts of CLUTEX – Klastr Technické textilie have led to the development of recycled solid boards made from garment waste. These boards are used in the production of clothes hangers and have potential applications in the construction industry.

The textile and clothing industry is among the largest polluters of the environment. The question of how to deal with used textiles is becoming increasingly urgent. An answer comes in the form of an innovative textile recycling solution developed by researchers from the Technical University of Liberec in collaboration with the social cooperative Diakonie Broumov.

The new process makes it possible to recycle entire garments without the need for sorting – including buttons and zippers. The textiles are ground and mixed with resin, resulting in solid boards. These boards can be used, for example, in the production of clothes hangers and also have potential applications in the construction industry.

Behind this innovative approach is the effort of CLUTEX – Klastr Technické textilie to find meaningful uses for textile waste. The cluster established cooperation with ARETEX – Asociace recyklace použitého textilu, z. s., which subsequently became a member of the cluster.

Thanks to the combination of expertise and mutual exchange of experience, the idea emerged to combine textiles with plastic and create a new product from waste material. The first result was the production of clothes hangers, followed by the development of construction boards.

This collaboration not only delivered tangible results but also integrated ARETEX into the activities of CLUTEX – Klastr Technické textilie, leading to the initiation of new development projects. Through this approach, CLUTEX reaffirms its key role in seeking innovative solutions for a sustainable future for the textile industry.
