On 22–23 October 2012 Prague’s Hotel Diplomat was the venue for the National Dialogue to Cluster Concepts event.
This two-day meeting was held as part of the CluStrat project (‘Boosting innovation through new cluster concepts in support of emerging issues and cross-sectoral themes’), which is co-financed via the Operational Programme Transnational Cooperation Central Europe.
One of the project’s key activities is mapping out newly emerging technologies and innovative new services responding to modern society’s socio-economic needs. These include the ageing population, sustainable development of emerging sectors and industries, technology transfer between industries, and recognizing embryonic innovation potential in the regions. An important aim of CluStrat is to help cement links between traditional industries and newly emerging sectors – including social services, health care, sustainable materials, nanotechnologies, green technologies, logistics and transport.
Over the two days of the National Dialogue event, discussions ranged across all of these themes, particularly focusing on active old age, sustainable development and sustainable mobility. The presenters were renowned experts in a range of fields including internationalization, technology transfer and gender in innovation.
The event was well-attended, and participants welcomed the opportunity to discuss the topics and ask the presenters for their views on a range of issues.
