Memorandum of Cooperation between the Czech Optical Cluster and the AUTOKLASTR
On November 27, the Czech Optical Cluster signed a strategic cooperation agreement with AUTOKLASTR, marking another significant step in strengthening collaboration.
The memorandum aims to leverage the potential of both clusters' members to support secondary education by creating opportunities for professional internships, placements, and dual education. These activities target not only students and pupils but also schools and parents, fostering awareness of technical education and career opportunities.
The importance of this collaboration was highlighted by the Executive Manager of the Czech Optical Cluster, Petr Prikryl: "Cooperation between two prominent clusters and the sharing of our expertise will enable the introduction of modern methods into education, support for teachers in schools, and the acquisition of up-to-date professional knowledge directly from companies. Specific initiatives include providing 20 sets of optical experiment kits to the lending system of the Fort Science Center in Olomouc. These tools make physics and technical education more engaging and accessible for students."
The agreement was commented on by the Executive Director of the AUTOKLASTR, Libor Dobes: "We greatly value the long-term cluster collaboration, which we have formalized today by signing the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Optical Cluster. We share a common interest in the development of technical education and the training of school graduates who, during their studies, gain practical experience in manufacturing companies, get inspired by cutting-edge technologies, and find it easier to adapt to new roles after completing their studies. As an example of good practice, I can mention the results of the Erasmus project, in which we, together with our Polish partners, developed a methodological guide for dual education with practical examples from companies and schools in the Czech Republic and Poland. Another example is the establishment and activities of the Moravian-Silesian Technology Academy (MTA), where we contribute to the preparation of so-called Eduboxes for secondary school students and teachers. These Eduboxes cover various topics, most of which are focused on the latest technologies in companies. The outputs of this project, initiated by the Moravian-Silesian Region, will be freely disseminated in other regions of the Czech Republic."
The agreement was signed during the COC members’ meeting held on November 27, 2024, at the Institute of Scientific Instruments of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Královopolská 147, Brno.
