EDIH Northeast: Supporting Innovation and Digital Transformation in Northeast Bohemia
EDIH Northeast, in cooperation with the Press Department of the Liberec Region, issued a press release.
Liberec, 12.2. 2024 - European Digital Innovation HUB for Liberec and Hradec Králové regions is pleased to announce its major step towards innovation and digital transformation in the Northeast region. The approval of the EDIH Northeast project by both donors, the European Commission and the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade (National Recovery Plan) marks an important milestone in the development of the project. "Membership of this prestigious European-level society brings support in the field of digitalisation, including the opportunity to connect with top partners across Europe. It opens up access to a large amount of unique digital know-how on favourable terms for companies, authorities or contributory organisations. This is a revolutionary step towards digital transformation in the whole of North East Bohemia. This initiative will play an important role in supporting innovation and digitalization in the Liberec Region," said Martin Půta, Governor of the Liberec Region.
EDIH Northeast offers a wide range of services aimed at supporting innovation and digital transformation through all consortium partners (Regional Development Agency, Technical University of Liberec, VUTS, Centre for Investment, Development and Innovation, University of Hradec Králové, National Cluster Association and Aricoma). These services include professional consultations with experts in digitalisation and the possibility of testing digital technologies, research and development, training, networking or grant management.
The project partners are successfully helping private and public entities with digitisation, and the project has already managed to implement several events for both target groups. These include, for example, the Brunch on AI in manufacturing companies, which took place in both Liberec and Hradec Králové. At these events, leaders of manufacturing companies were introduced to the possibilities of incorporating AI into production and were presented with practical examples from companies where AI has already been effectively implemented.
In Liberec, the Regional Development Agency also hosted a roundtable on services and digital technologies in the framework of EDIH Northeast for Archaeology and a training on Modern Technologies in Care for Public Organisations. This training focused on introducing assistive technologies that help to improve the quality of services and care for people with physical or mental disabilities (e.g., handy pads that measure vital signs) and show new trends in elder care. Thanks to EDIH Northeast, selected contributory organisations in the Liberec Region will be able to try out these aids (Test before investing service) in order to get acquainted with them and start using them.
The first of a series of planned practical training sessions for teachers on AI in education took place at the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Kamenický Šenov. EDIH Northeast is hereby introducing teachers to the possibilities of using AI in teaching and in the development of preparation. In addition, teachers learned updates on the implementation of AI in the RVP and other helpful information on ethical, didactic, and legislative issues related to the use of AI in education.
We look forward to working with businesses and public organisations; contact us via the digital ambulance to arrange a free meeting with our digitalisation and grants management experts either online or in person at a time of your choosing.
