Digital Association AAVIT Joins Forces with Meta

Novinka

The global technology company Meta Platforms, known for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads, is becoming a new member of the digital Association for Applied Research in IT – AAVIT. As of June 2025, one of the world’s leading innovators in digital technologies and artificial intelligence joins the ranks of the association.

Meta is one of the most influential players in the global digital economy. Artificial intelligence now forms the core of its technological strategy and future vision. Meta thus confirms its heavyweight status in the development of generative models and next-generation computing technologies.

Meta Platforms’ entry into AAVIT not only strengthens the technological ecosystem in the Czech Republic but also brings a new impetus for collaboration between global innovators and local leaders in digital transformation.

“At AAVIT, we have long emphasised the importance of digital services for the Czech economy, and Meta is an undisputed global leader in this sector. Companies like Meta are a true bridge between the EU and the USA. We believe we can serve as an effective platform for collaboration among global corporations, research organisations, startups, scaleups, and small and medium-sized enterprises. Meta invests heavily in AI development and will help us gain insight into the technological future,” said AAVIT director Jaromír Hanzal regarding the American company’s membership.

The collaboration between Meta and AAVIT is not entirely new—formally confirmed membership is a natural outcome of years of dialogue, particularly in the area of digital legislation and technology regulation. Both parties have long shared an interest in a transparent and rational approach to regulating digital platforms—one that fosters innovation, protects consumers, and at the same time does not place disproportionate burdens on businesses.

“This is a logical conclusion of long-term cooperation between the two entities, especially in the area of digital legislation. Meta has a longstanding interest in strong collaboration with European partners. Europe represents a key market for us and offers a wide range of business opportunities. At the same time, it is important that this cooperation is not hindered by unnecessarily strict legislative regulation. Countries in Central Europe have historically maintained a rational stance on this issue. Moreover, the Czech Republic has been somewhat sidelined in recent years when it comes to cooperation with major digital technology players, so we see our membership in AAVIT as a way to change that. Meta views the Czech Republic as a country with high innovation potential, a well-developed digital infrastructure, and a growing ecosystem of tech companies,” says Patrik Tovaryš of Meta.

AAVIT represents a natural partner for Meta in building professional connections, sharing know-how, and discussing the direction of European digital policy. The cooperation could serve as a catalyst for a number of new initiatives that will benefit not only AAVIT members but also the technological future of the Czech Republic. In the Czech Republic, Meta also collaborates with the Czech Association for Artificial Intelligence, which has been a close partner of AAVIT over the past two years.
