The conference ‘Milovice Science and Technology Park – Practical Benefits of Cluster-Based Innovation’ took place on 9 October 2012 at the Technical Museum in Brno. The conference was organized by the National Cluster Association (NCA) in conjunction with the Centre for Research, Development, Innovation and Regional Development (CVVI) and other partners in the project ‘Milovice Science and Technology Park Cooperation Platform’ – including the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Transport Sciences of the Czech Technical University in Prague, the Milovice Science and Technology Park management company, and the composite fibre manufacturer TECHNOFIBER, s.r.o. The conference was aimed at academics, students, and companies involved in the automotive industry, mechanical engineering and power generation who were considering setting up operations at the Milovice Science and Technology Park.

Conference delegates heard interesting presentations by representatives of the Milovice Science and Technology Park, the Centre for Research, Development, Innovation and Regional Development, the
Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, and a range of clusters and companies from the South Moravian Region. The event also offered a forum for setting up new partnerships and sharing information on the latest developments in clusters, R&D, and cooperation between universities and industry. There was also a scheduled visit to the Technical Museum in Brno.
